Comfort
British manufactured furniture has been chosen for the seating. Featuring a classicly designed John Sankey Steamer chair, a masterpiece of interior design and very comfortable too. It is complimeted by 2 matching mid century designed sofa’s manufactured by Ercol.
Fire / Stove
Although there is a modern heating system in the house, the lounge also features a traditional stove set against the open red sandstone wall which burns coal if you also enjoy a fire. Kinderling and fire lighters are provided in the fire box underneath the TV so you can enjoy a toasty night relaxing in the lounge.
Entertainment
A quality Bose soundbar can be used as a sound system via Bluetooth and also compliments the 55″ Sony TV for movies and sport. The TV has access to terrestrial TV and also online platforms such as Netflix & Amazon Prime but due to restrictions you may have to use your own account for these services.
Style
At School Hill Croft a lot of attention has been paid to the interior design with a focus on using British made objects and materials. This style is prevalent in the lounge which features a period sword over the fireplace, period artwork, low wooden ceilings, Bakelite light switches and feature window seat.
Window seat
The adorable window seat is adorned with fabrics and cushions sourced from the local fabrics shop, and is a lovely place to perch when chatting to friends, using a device or reading a book. Do be careful not to lean in the glass though please as the window panes are thin in keeping with the traditional construction and rules of being in the conservation area.
Games
On the shelf at the left hand edge of the stone wall you will find a selection of traditional games in keeping with the period style of the property, along with some more vintage ones including chess and draughts pieces for the inlaid chess table which is in the lounge, cards, dice, dominos, rubix cube with a book of tips to complete it & more.
